KERN COUNTY RECAP: The 2017 #NASCAR K&N Pro Series West season came to a close on Saturday night at Kern County Raceway. Will Rodgers and the No.7 Jefferson Pitts Racing team didn’t have as strong of a run as they hoped too, finishing 8th. But Saturday night’s run didn’t hinder what’s been a great season for the team.
Will competed in every West Series race this season. In those 14 events, he completed 97% of the laps. Will accumulated nine top-5 finishes, with an overall average finish of 7.0. At the conclusion of Saturday night’s race, Will ended up 5th in the NKPSW standings, whilst finishing 2nd in the Rookie of the Year battle.
“We didn’t finish the season off as strong as we had hoped to, but I’ve had an absolute blast this year,” said Will. “Gotta thank all my guys at JPR for consistently bringing competitive cars. "I really appreciate all the support from my family and friends. It’s been a really fun season. Also want to thank KELLY Benefit Strategies for coming on board for the season finale, the car was beautiful.”
Saturday night’s event was tape-delayed and will be shown on NBCSN on Friday, November 10th at 3:30PM Eastern Time.
Thank you once again to everyone for following along this season. We’ll keep you updated here for any other events Will competes in this season.
